Four Days of Presence at Salema Eco Camp

Take a deep breath before you start reading… and as you read.

Close your eyes and imagine the sound of the wind in the trees, birds singing, and the gentle rhythm of your own breathing. This was the feeling at Salema Eco Camp, where our Alma Mater space welcomed the Rising Within retreat, a deeply meaningful experience led by Michelle Bavaresco.

For four days, there was no need to rush. At Alma Mater, the goal was simple: to slow down, calm the mind, and gently reconnect with the body, guided by Michelle’s warm and supportive presence.

Each morning started with a gentle yoga practice. There was no pressure or hurry, just mindful movement and time to be present.

Nature was an important part of the experience. During mindful walks and while listening to Joaquim’s stories about the local area, participants were invited to slow down and notice the world around them. By leaving behind the noise of everyday life, they found space for peace, reflection, and a deeper connection with themselves.

At Alma Mater, something special happened. Between the first light of the morning and the quiet afternoons, meaningful connections grew. There were tears that helped release old emotions, genuine laughter, and honest conversations between people who had only just met.

What stayed with everyone was a simple feeling: nature has the power to heal when we allow ourselves to slow down, be present, and truly feel.

The Rising Within retreat has ended, but the energy of Alma Mater is still here.
